Swannanoa – Gary Franklin Gibson, 68, of 142 Park Ridge Avenue went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
A native and resident most of his life of Buncombe County. He retired as a long distant truck driver and formerly was employed with the City of Asheville Sanitation Department.
Mr. Gibson was a son of the late Arthur Hayward Gibson and Nancy Jean Kelly Gibson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary Randall "Randy" Gibson; brothers, Kenneth Gibson, Harold Alvin Gibson and Richard Kelly and sister, Catherine Drake.
Surviving are his wife whom he married June 25, 1994, Sue Carter Gibson of the home; loving daughters, Tammy Lynn Gibson of Asheville and Dr. Michelle Bullman and her husband and special son-in-law Brian of Gray, TN; grandchildren, Wesley Vincent Gibson and wife Tiffany of Arden and Larissa Ann Bullman of Gray, TN; sisters, Pat Fisher of Arden and Mildred Yates of Asheville.
Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Shelton officiating.
Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mtn.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
