WOODFIN - Nancy "Carolyn" Gibson, 75, of Brookdale Road, went to be with her husband Saturday, December 8, 2012 at her home.
A native of Winder, GA. Mrs. Gibson had resided in Buncombe County since 1979, and was of the Baptist faith. She was the daughter of the late John Ralph and Sara Montine Austin Doster. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold A. Gibson, who passed away October 23, 2011; and her sister, Joyce Whidden.
Surviving are her children: Steve Gibson and wife Janice of Canton, Marcia Reynolds and husband Ronnie of Winston-Salem, and John Eric Gibson and wife Arlene of Asheville; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers: Darrell Doster of Winder, GA. and Gary Doster of SanDiego, CA.; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
