Virginia Lee Bartlett, 80, died Dec. 25, 2013. She was born March 23, 1933, in Turon, the daughter of Cliff and Agnes Gadbury. She was a lifelong resident of the Stafford area.

She married Bob Bartlett Jan. 8, 1956. He died June 3, 2006. She enjoyed farming throughout her lifetime. Along with farming, she worked at the Stafford County Hospital for many years. She retired from the hospital in 2003, but she continued swathing hay, hauling cattle, and a variety of other farming chores. She is survived by: two daughters, Connie Kocher (Joe) of Stafford, Tammy Nestor (Tom) of McPherson; a son, Calvin Bartlett of Stafford; four grandchildren, Danielle (JL) Kasper of Wilson, DeAnna Kocher of Hutchinson, Ameilea Nestor of McPherson, and Cord (Britney) Nestor of McPherson; a great-grandchild, Brendyn Nestor of McPherson; two sisters, Frances Hess of Sylvia and Betty Trimpe of Turon; a brother, Jack Gadbury of Wichita. She was preceded in death by siblings, Fred Gadbury, Bud Gadbury, Donna Sladen, Clarence "Pappy" Gadbury and Ralph Gadbury.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with Pastor Monte McFerrin presiding. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Contributions may be given to Southwind Hospice in care of the chapel.
