Mr. Furr, 75, died Jan. 4, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 12, 1935. He married his wife, Barbara L. Furr, on June 16, 1957.
He was owner and operator of Electric Motor Sales and Pump Repair for 40 years, and was well known to the community for fixing their water well pumps and "getting them water." He was a Mason and member of Fair River Lodge No. 203. He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dan B. Furr Sr. and Inez Chutz Furr; his son, Randy Furr; and his father-in-law, Carmon Lester.
Survivors are his wife of more than 53 years, Barbara L. Furr of Brookhaven; his daughters, Katrina "Tina" Pickett and husband Eddie, and Sandra Furr, all of Brookhaven; his grandchildren, Allyson Pickett McDonnieal and husband Grant, of New Hebron, and Chase Pickett of Brookhaven; his sisters, Geneva Rainey and husband Dewey, of Terry, Jody Ward and daughter, Deb of Jackson; his mother-in-law, Lois Lester; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries in Brookhaven.
