Mildred (Millie) Allen, 76, of Wilburton, Okla., passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Heart Hospital/ Baylor in Plano. Millie was born on August 11, 1935 in Wilburton, Okla., a daughter of the late Estie (Clark) and Joseph L. Francis. After being raised in the Wilburton area, she spent many years in the Sherman-Denison area in Texas. Millie worked at Burlington Industries for several years and then retired after 25 years of employment at Johnson and Johnson. Millie married the love of her life, Tully Allen, on September 8, 1953, in Sherman. They spent 57 wonderful years together during which they raised a family and lived in various places throughout the United States. In 1995, Millie and Tully decided to return to their childhood home and resided in the Centerpoint Community just north of Wilburton. During those years Millie was an active, dedicated and lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Chapter 3649 of Wilburton. She held several offices in the Auxiliary, including president, trustee and auditor. Millie is survived by two sons, Tracy Allen of Wilburton, Okla., Steave Allen and wife, Debbie of Pottsboro. She has two beloved grandchildren, Crystal and husband, James Hill of Pottsboro, Chad Allen and wife, Marlana of Pottsboro. Millie also has five adored great-grandchildren, Haylee and Haygan Hill, and Addison, Rhyan and Blakely Allen; brother, Joseph M. Francis of McAlester, Okla.; sister, Betty Duree of Bells; sister-in-law, Evelyn Francis of Grants, N.M.; along with a host of wonderful nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Tully; parents; sister, Loyce; and brother James. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Centerpoint Baptist Church in Wilburton, Okla., with Rev. Willard Francis and Rev. Bud Vinson officiating. Interment to follow at the Centerpoint Cemetery in Wilburton, Okla. Pallbearers will be Mark Bennett, Dennis Deela, Rocky Tomlin, Mike Elder, Stephen Brinlee and Brandon Deela. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at Waldrop Funeral Home in Wilburton, Okla.
