Mrs. Lucinda J. Beasley, 81 years old, died Saturday at the home of a daughter in East Alton, Illinois. She had been residing there the past several months, after she became seriously ill. Mrs. Beasley was born southwest of Lutesville January 22, 1876, a daughter of the late Anderson Fowler and Lucinda 'Jane' (Ford) Fowler.

She was married to William L. Beasley December 14, 1893. They resided on a farm west of Glen Allen until Mr. Beasley's death in 1944. Mrs. Beasley resided in Marble Hill for two years prior to moving to East Alton.

She was a member of Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by seven daughters and two sons, Mrs. Tina McGee; Mrs. E.E. Stone; Mrs. Earl Sitze; and Mrs. Gene Knutson all of East Alto, Ill.; Mrs. Luther Farmer of Bethalto, Ill.; Mrs. Roy B. Newell of Cottage Hill, Ill.; Mrs. Lester Filer of Marble Hill, Mo.; Estel Beasley of Lutesville, Mo.; and Elvis Beasley of East Alton, Ill.; one brother, James Fowler of Pasadena, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. E.L. Gaither of Zalma, Mo.; Mrs. Emma Eaker of Bethalto, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

Two children preceded her in death.

Funeral rites were held Monday at Ward Funeral Home in Lutesville. Rev. Verdell Jackson conducted services and burial was in McGee Chapel Cemetery near Grassy.
