Betty R. Elarton of Centerville, Iowa, passed away February 15, 2015 at West View Care Center in Indianola, Iowa. She was born February 20, 1929 in Centerville, Iowa to Robert Marion and Bessie Jane(Martin)Flowers. She was the youngest of their eleven children. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1946.

On February 20, 1948 she was united in marriage to Dale Leon Elarton in Centerville, Iowa. Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping at the state fair, summers were filled with gardening and canning of her and Dale's vegetables, and in her later years watching wildlife from her front porch. She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Centerville.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Dale Elarton on November 17, 1987; a daughter, Sheryl Richardson in 2009; brothers, Robert, Harry, Forrest and Raymond Flowers; sisters, Ruth Flowers, Letha Padavich, Wilma Padavich, Sharlot Ricketts, Mae Davis and a sister in infancy.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Golik and her husband, Richard of Indianola, Iowa and Linda Stout and her husband, Robert of Little Flock, Arkansas; her son-in-law Thomas Richardson of Fairfield, Iowa; four grandchildren, Carrie Wilson of North Liberty, Iowa; Brandie Golik of Des Moines, Iowa; Chase Golik of Urbandale, Iowa, and Ashley Stout of Bentonville, Arkansas; and four great grandchildren: Cade & Evan Wilson; Nora Golik; Allan Juarez & Caydee Golik.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home with Rev. Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow at the Dale Cemetery north of Centerville. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home with the family present from 4-6 pm.
