Mrs. Mattie McCarty, 72, widow of the later Dr. L. R. McCarty, for many years a prominent physician of Centerville, Passed away Monday night at her home in Conway where she had resided for about 20 years, having moved to that city to educate her children.
Mrs. McCarty was a women of lovely character, dearly beloved in the Centerville community where she so long resided. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Frank Dunn, of Conway, were held at Mt. George Cemetery Tuesday at 1:00 o'clock p. m.
Mrs. McCarty is survived by two daughters: Mesdames Bonnie Clubb, of Little Rock, and Lora Henderson of Dallas, Tex.; one brother, Dick Evans, of Spalding, Okla.; and three sisters: Mrs. Mollie Griffin, of Alton, Ill., Mrs. Rosa Pattilo, of Cneterville, and Mrs John Peteill, of Holdenville, Okla.
The Post-Dispatch joins friends of the family in extending deepest sympathy in their loss.
