d. 15, 1857 Augusta, Houston Co, Texas. Father probably Alexander and Molley Edens.
Married; abt 1802, pro. anderson Co, S.C. to Lavinia Langford. b. 1783 pro. Ark or La. Daughter of Eli Langford, Sr. and Sarah Langford.

b. 1804/1806 Laurens Co, S.C. d. Shortly after massacre, which occurred 18 Oct 1838.
Their children were; Balis Erls survived the massacre by hiding.

There are supposed to be two more children but were not printed.

Balis is not Balis Armstead. That was the son of his brother Bannister.(named after his wife Elizabeth's father Armstead Bennett).
Balis first married Elizabeth Louisa Thompson-Grigsby. (widow of John Grigsby)
Together they has a daughter; Mary Louise (Swindle) and a stillborn twin.
Second marriage; Ruth Ann Grigsby, dau. of John Grigsby and Hester Sharp. (This is the conclusion, Balis married Ruth Ann's step mother first. She died and then he married Ruth Ann.)
Balis and Ruth Ann had the following children;
Benjamin Franklin, John Randolph, Lucinda Elizabeth, Isaac Newton, Elizabeth Luvenia (Venie), Sarah Josephine, Ruth Ann, Robert Balis.
