Erma G. Echart, 83, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014. A daughter of the late Caleb Z. and Mary Sethman Lynn, she was born at home in Rostraver Township on Jan. 25, 1931. Erma was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and was a longtime member of Pricedale Union Church, where she played the piano and organ for more than 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Echart, on June 2, 1998; a son, Jeffrey S. Echart, in 1976; and a daughter, Sherri R. Echart, on June 27, 2014. Survivors include a son, James L. Echart, of Greensburg; two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce and Dr. Robert Kantor, of Harrisburg, and Debra DeVito, of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Katie Kantor, Andrew Kantor and Anthony DeVito; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene "Sonny" Lynn and his wife, Isabelle, of Belle Vernon; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Roberta Greenawalt and her husband, Cecil, of Lebanon, Pa., and Shirley Snyder and her husband, Edward, of Mechanicsville, Md. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., (724-929-5300), Belle Vernon, where a funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
