VAN ALSTYNE - Daisy Douglas Bickenbach of Van Alstyne passed away September 22, 2013 at the age of 92. She was born January 2, 1921, to Jesse and Rittie (Fisher) Douglas in McKinney. Daisy worked at Collin Memorial Hospital in McKinney as an insurance clerk for most of her professional career. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Bickenbach of Van Alstyne; son, Mark Bickenbach and wife Anita of Van Alstyne; grandsons, Jason Bickenbach and wife Shannon of Van Alstyne, Jared Bickenbach and wife Leslie of Austin, and Justin Bickenbach and wife Samantha of Sequin; great-granddaughters, Payton and Landrie Bickenbach of Van Alstyne; sisters, Verna Cage of Van Alstyne, Grace Hubble of Denton, Maggie Carrington of Sherman; brothers, Andrew Douglas of Huntsville, Ala., and Sam Douglas of Denison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Burton Douglas; and sister, Dora Wright.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, with Frank Morgan of Greenville officiating. Interment is to follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6 -8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
