Douglas Sam Bickenbach, 95, of Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away December 16, 2015. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen with Frank Morgan officiating. The interment is to follow in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.

Douglas was born in Aurora, Colorado, to the late Sam Ellis Bickenbach and Agnes L. (Lambie) Bickenbach. He grew up in Colorado and the Los Angeles, California, area before moving to McKinney in the late 1940s. He married Daisy Douglas on April 15, 1943, at Pepperdine University in California. Douglas served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a minister for the Church of Christ serving most recently in Westminster, Texas. Douglas was also a manager of Southwest Spring Company in Dallas for over thirty years. He enjoyed horseback riding and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy; brother, Tom Bickenbach; and sister, Daisy Scheckles.

Survivors include his son, Mark Bickenbach and wife, Anita, of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandsons: Jason Bickenbach and wife, Shannon, Jared Bickenbach and wife, Leslie, and Justin Bickenbach and wife, Samantha; great-grandchildren: Payton Bickenbach, Landrie Bickenbach, Mason Bickenbach, Andie Bickenbach, and Konleigh Bickenbach; and a host of other loving family and friends.
