Mayme (aka May, Mamie) was born to Perry Ancel Short and Nina Short (nee Root) in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. She married Walter James Dickinson in Tioga County PA on December 10, 1918 when she was 16 years old. They lived with the Short family in Wellsboro Pa until moving to Endicott, NY, where Walter worked for the Endicott Johnson Corporation. Together they adopted two children, Robert Ashley Dickinson and Alberta Isabell Dickinson. Walter died in 1936 and Mayme married Casper Davison in 1942. Together they ran a small dairy farm in Newark Valley, NY.
