Petersburg, March 2 - Edward Decker [sic], of 4 miles east of Petersburg, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, following an illness of over a year.

Mr. Decker [sic] was born Sept. 22, 1874 in Oldenburg, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicolaus Decker [sic].

He came to this country in 1890 and settled in Menard county.

He married Lizzie Rosendahl on March 1, 1899. The couple farmed for many years in this vicinity.

His wife and a son preceded him in death.

He was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church at Greenview.

Surviving are two daughters, Miss Margaret, at home; and Mrs. Edna Cline, of Petersburg; and four grandchildren; four brothers, Carl, of Wagoner, S.D.; Borchard, of Enid, Okla.; Chris, of Eva, Okla; and August, of Oldenburg, Germany.

DENCKER - Remains of Edward Dencker, of four miles east of Petersburg, were at the Satroius funeral home and were removed to the residence where services were held followed by at the St. John's Evangelical & Reformed church, Greenview.

Burial in Elmwood cemetery, Greenview.
