THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 1909
James Dalaba, of this place, died very suddenly
of heart trouble Saturday at Blue Mountain Lake.
He had been employed in a lumber camp and had got
through and was starting for home with his team
when he suddenly expired. The remains were brought
to his home Sunday.
The funeral was held Tuesday from the Wesleyan church
at Bakers Mills, of which he was a member, the Rev.
J. J. Davison officiating. Interment in the Bates
cemetery. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil War
and leaves a widow and ten children.
Son of Wm & Mercy Porter Dalaba, civil War Veteran, husband of sisters, Laura Morehouse & Rebecca Morehouse and father of 12.
James was born May 31 1850 in Middletown Springs, Rutland, Vermont USA. James died February 20, 1909 in Johnsburg, Warren, New York USA. He married Laura as early as 1872, and with her had 2 daughters who died young. James and Rebecca were married on May 12, 1879.
