Mrs J.V. Bryant, one of Gordon county's most respected and highly esteemed women, passed away at her home near Calhoun last Sunday afternoon. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs Bryant is survived by the following children: J.C. Bryant, Selma, Alabama; Mrs C.R. Hughey, Decatur, Georgia; Mrs W.E. Harmon, Albany, Georgia; Mrs J.H. Ellis, Ashburn, Georgia; Mrs C.I. Hopgood, Plainville, Georgia; Mrs Mamie Beason, H.O. Bryant, E.M. Bryant and Miss Tressie Bryant, all of Calhoun. One sister, Mrs John Ferguson, of Calhoun, also survives.
Funeral services were held from Blackwood Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. R.C. Kimsey and Rev. A.J. McArthur officiating. Grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers, and granddaughters were flower girls. Music was furnished by Neal's quartet. Interment was in Blackwood cemetery, E.L. Jackson & Son being in charge of arrangements.
