Mrs. Alphreta Belle Campbell was born on
September 10, 1866 at Sugar Tree Ridge,
Ohio and departed this life on December 27,
1945 at the hospital at Marysville, Kansas.
She had been in failing health the past four
years, but her last illness came upon her
suddenly on December 11 and she was
unable to make her way back to life.

She came to Frankfort, Kansas at the age of
three years with her parents in 1869. They
preceded her in death a number of years ago.

March 9, 1884 she was united in marriage
with Joseph A. Cook, and to this union eight
children were born, of whom five survive;
James Willis Cook,San Francisco, California
Erwin Guy Cook, Salem, Oregon, Ivan Wes-
ley Cook, Concord, California, Mrs. Lana
Belle Lewis, Blue Rapids, Kansas and
Winnie Maye Cook of the home; two sisters,
Mrs. Emma McKee and Mrs. Leona Lawder-
man and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec.
30, 1945 with Reverend A.M. McInnis at the
Padden Funeral Chapel.

Burial was beside her husband in the
Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.

Pallbearers were members of the I.O.O.F.
Lodge; Dave McKim, Louis Crabb, Ad
Myers, Earl Owen, Harry Feldhausen and
Claud Robb.

Honorary pallbearers were sisters members
of the Rebekah Lodge of which she was a
member of thirty years; Ethel Gumm, Ann
Mosher, Cemma Russell, Alta Shedden, Ida
Owen, Alice Crabb, Julia Morton, Vera
Black and Edna McKim.
