Byron Cole, since 1873 a resident of the Watrousville community, died at the home of his son Maurice just south of the village Monday, January 28, [1929]. He had been sick a month and death was caused by the effects of influenza.
Mr. Cole was born May 14, 1851 at Cole's Creek, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. He was married to Josephine York December 29, 1874. To the union three sons were born, Claude and Maurice of Watrousville and Harold who died April 30, 1922. Mrs. Cole died in May, 1927. He is also survived by two sisters, Miss Rosie Cole and Mrs. Bent Ikler of Benton, Pennsylvania, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Huston-Arms, Rev. J.H. Strike of Reese officiating. Burial was made in Caro Cemetery.
