On Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Washington, D.C. Alfred Bernard Claggett of Bryans Road, Maryland, left this life for one eternal.
Sam, as he was more affectionately known, was born on December 15, 1958 in Cheverly Maryland to Helen Patricia Lancaster Claggett and Anthony Gustine Claggett of Bryans Road, Maryland.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from June 10, 1977 until he was honorably discharged on June 3, 1980. After which he worked as a laborer in the field of Construction.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Edith Claggett; son, Alfred Jr.; sister, Doris Medley; brothers, Anthony and Joseph Claggett; sister-in-law, Dianne Claggett; brother-in-law, Jerome Medley; special friend, Tamia Butler and a host of other relatives and friends.
His Viewing will be held on Friday, February 29, 2008, 11:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial, 12:30 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Road, Clinton, Maryland.
His Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland.
