Edward P. Carroll, 61, Rochester, died Saturday evening in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after having been ill for eight months.

He was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Orange County, the son of Porter and Olive Jacobs Carroll. He was employed as a foreman at the Sealed Power factory in Rochester. He was a former resident of Carthage and Knightstown and graduated from Knightstown High School in 1941.

He was a member of East Street Christian Church in Carthage.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Stephens Carroll; two sons, Jim of Milwaukee, Wis., and Capt. Patrick Carroll of Ft. Hood, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Deanna) Whitaker of Greenfield; a grandson, three brothers, Bob of Shirley, Charles if Cape Coral, Fla., and Norman of Knightstown; and his stepmother, Dortha Carroll of Knightstown.

Services were 10am Tuesday at Butcher Funeral Home with Rev. David Greenfield officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the East Street Christian Church in Carthage.
