Rebecca Carroll Johnson, age 77 of Williams Street, Portland died Thursday afternoon September 27, 2012 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Southwest Harbor the daughter of Wesley B., and L. Evelyn Warren Carroll. She attended schools in Machias graduating from Machias High School class of 1952. She also graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
Rebecca was a member of the Woodfords Congregational Church, a member of the National Association of Parlimentaritians, and a member of the Elizabeth Wadsworth Chapter of the DAR. She also was a warden for District 3-2 City of Portland for the past 17 years.
Besides her husband of 52 years Wayne W. Johnson of Portland, she leaves 3 Daughters; Janet and her husband Philip Thompson of Gorham, Jennifer and her husband Dave Shugars of Scarborough, Judy and her husband Rodney Walter of Phoenix, AZ, a Sister, Barbara Maloy of Machiasport, Me. Also survived by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
