Lydia Oles married Samuel Campbell. Children: Alva, Franklin, Charles, Alfred, Albert, Minor, and Samuel Peter. Obituary: Mrs. Samuel Campbell died at her home west of this village, Wednesday, June 19, aged 63 years, 11 months and 19 days. Lydia J. Oles was born in New York state June 25, 1837, and moved to Michigan when she was six years old with her parents and has lived in this state ever since. She was married to Samuel Campbell June 25, 1852, and seven children were born to their union, two dead and five survive her. They are Franklin P., Charles E., Alva M., and Sam P. She had 12 grandchildren; three brothers and one sister. She lived on the farm, where she died, for 40 years. It was a forest in those days and she and her husband had to cut the trees away for the house which was a small one, and is still standing and used for a workshop. The funeral occurred at the house Friday at 10 o'clock a.m., Rev. H.A. Field officiating. The remains were interred in the Rice cemetery.
