Mrs. EFFIE P. BURROUGHS
MANCHESTER DEPOT - Mrs. Effie Phillips Burroughs, 86, died Friday at Putnam Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for five weeks.
She was born in Peru Sept 21, 1879, daughter of Calvin and Mary Penfield Phillips.
A lifelong resident of Manchester Depot, she was a member of the Peru Congregational Church, the Excelsior Rebekah Lodge No. 25, and the Mt. Equinox Grange.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Abramson and Mrs. Julia Kilbourne, both of Manchester Depot; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Martha Walker of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at the Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester Center at 2 pm Tuesday by the Rev. Godfrey Parker, pastor of the Manchester Baptist Church. Burial will be at Dellwood Cemetery in Manchester.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday between 7 and 9 pm.
