IN LOVING MEMORY OF DOYLE M. BURD

Doyle Morris Burd, son of Loyd and Daisy (McKenna) Burd, was born January 31, 1927, in Clayton, Kansas, and passed away October 18, 1991, at the Decatur County Hospital, Oberlin, Kansas, at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 17 days.

He grew to manhood in Prairie View, Kansas, and attended rural grade schools and Almena High School in Norton County. Doyle served in the United States Army during World War II with the 8th Field Artillery Battalion and received the W.W.II Victory Medal and the Army Occupational Medal of Japan. Around 1950 he moved to Allison, Kansas where he farmed until he moved to Oberlin, Kansas, in 1984.

Doyle and Eunice (Nicie) Wiscombe were married June 5, 1976, at Dresden, Kansas.

He loved farming and was an active member of the National Farmers Organization.

Survivors include his wife, Nicie of Oberlin, Kansas; one son, Matthew Burd of Oberlin, Kansas; one stepson and his wife, Gary and Becky Sparks of McCook, Nebraska; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Kimberly and Kendall Towne of Balaton, Minnesota, and Shana and Jon Fisher of Oberlin, Kansas; three sisters and their husbands, Lorma and Cleatus Ebaugh of Garden City, Kansas, Dena and Orland Carver of Wichita, Kansas, and Vanetta and Jim Sears of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchilden; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents.
