Mrs. A. David Bruso
Mrs. Mary D. Bruso, 82, widow of Amelia David Bruso, well-known resident of Barber Street, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital Sunday night after a long illness. She was born in Glastenbury April 17, 1886, daughter of Alphonse and Philomene LaPointe.
Her education had been received in Glastenbury and Bennington. She was married to Mr. Bruso Oct 1, 1902 in Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. Charles Prevost officiating. In her earlier years, she had been employed at the old Cooper knitting mill.
Her home and family had been her primary interests. She was adept at crocheting and loved flowers.
Survivors are seven sons, Joseph A. Bruso of Bennington, William I. of Ilion, N.Y.; Edmond J. and Arthur J. Bruso, both of Bennington; Francis C. of Ludlow, Mass.; Louis J. Bruso of Ilion, N.Y., and David B. of Jacksonville, N.Y.; four daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Delia) O'Dell of Mohawk, N.Y.; Mrs. Michael (Eve) Moretti and Mrs. Winfield (Louise) Robinson, both of Bennington; Mrs. Harvey (Irene) Wheeler of Nassau, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Perrott of Bennington; 41 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home are tonight from 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 Tuesday night.
The funeral will be held with a Requiem High Mass in Sacred Heart Church, of which she was a member, Wednesday at 9 am., preceded at 8:30 by a prayer at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columban's Cemetery, Arlington.
