Anna Pauline Breeden, 92, of Elkton, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Breeden was born April 29, 1916, in the Fox Mountain area of Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late George William and Julie Susan Thomas Lam.

She attended Fox Mountain School near Elkton. She was a homemaker and made quilts. She worked at Sleepwear Inc. in Elkton and in her earlier years, she was a self-employed housekeeper for many families.

Her husband, Melvin Monroe Breeden, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Roy Hammer of Kearnsville, W.Va., and Melvin Hammer and Gary Hammer, both of Elkton; three daughters, Betty Hensley of Elkton, Evelyn Crawford of Grottoes, and Ann Frazier of Shenandoah; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Pastor Nona F. Allen will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at Furnace United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Jollett Neighborhood Cemetery in Page County near Elkton.
