John "Johnny" Clifton Brann Jr.
John "Johnny" Clifton Brann, Jr., 68, of Callao, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at his home.
Survivors are his devoted and loving wife of 47 years, Charlotte Brooks Brann; his four children, Cynthia Brann Brown and her husband, Marshall of Callao, John Craig Brann and his wife, Kristie of Warsaw, David Webster Brann and his wife, Misty of Callao, Mark Wesley Brann and his wife, Lisa of Callao; six grandchildren, Jordan Taylor Brown, Austin Tyler Brown, Norah Ellen Brann, John Carter Brann, Brooklyn Olivia Brann and Avery Reece Brann; his brother, Daniel Edward Brann and wife, Esther of Christiansburg; his sister, Mary Ellen Brann Harris and husband, Samuel of Mineral. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Clifton Brann, Sr. and Mary Ellen Dawson Brann.
Mr. Brann was a member and Deacon of Gibeon Baptist Church having served on various committees, a veteran of the U.S. Army, the owner of J. C. Brann & Sons Trucking, and a partner in J. C. Brann & Son Farm, and a former member of Callao Moose Lodge.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Dialysis Center in Warsaw for their love, care and kindness shown to "Johnny" during his illness.
A funeral service was held at Gibeon Baptist Church, at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 with interment following in the church cemetery. The Reverend David G. McEntire officiated. Pallbearers included his three grandsons Jordon Taylor Brown, Austin Tyler Brown, John Carter Brann and Christopher S. Wilkins, Richard H. Dove, James Warren Burrell, Conrad E. Barbee, William Perry Brann, and William Frederick Deitz. Flower bearer was his granddaughter, Norah Ellen Brann.
