John Clifton Brann was the son of Eddie Julious and Homer Jane Brann.

John Clifton Brann, Sr,. 89, of Callao, Virginia, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Farnham Manor. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ellen Dawson Brann. He is survived by three children, John
Clifton Brann, Jr. and wife Charlotte of Callao, Daniel Edward Brann and wife, Esther of Christiansburg and Ellen Brann Harris and husband, Samuel of Mineral; grandchildren include Cynthia Brann Brown, John Craig Brann, David
Webster Brann, Mark Wesley Brann, Jennifer Ray Brann, Katie Victoria Brann, Abbey Marie Harris, Stacey Ellen Harris, and Brandy Pauline Harris. He was the great-grandfather of Jordan Tyler Brown, Austin Taylor Brown, Norah Ellen Brann, John Carter Brann, Avery Reece Brann, Brooklyn Olivia Brann, Zachary McKay Dulaney, and Seth Daniel McGuire. He was predeceased by his parents, Eddie
Julious and Homer Jane Brann. An active member of Gibeon Baptist Church, he served many years as Deacon and Trustee. He was a veteran of World War II and a former member of Kinsale Lodge 212, AF & AM, and Callao Ruritan Club. Mr. Brann enjoyed his life-time occupation as a farmer. He took great pride in cultivating the soil, producing rich and abundant crops and cultivating the next generations of farmers in his family.
A memorial service was held Monday, September 6, 2010 at Gibeon Baptist Church, Village, Virginia with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. David McEntire and the Rev. Dr. G.C. Harbuck officiated. Pallbearers were John Craig Brann, David Webster Brann, Mark Wesley Brann, Austin Tyler Brown, Marshall Lee Brown, and Conrad E. Barbee. Honorary pallbearers were Zachary McKay Dulaney, Seth Daniel McGuire, and John Carter Brann.
