Clinton died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Clinton was born February 20, 1912, near Rudd, Iowa, the son of John A. and Gertrude (Mausehund) Brandau. He was baptized in April of 1912 and confirmed in April of 1926 at Eden Presbyterian Church, rural Rudd. Clinton attended schools in Rudd, and was a 1931 graduate of Rudd High School. He participated in baseball and basketball, with each of those teams making it to the state tournament. Clinton married Dorothy Brandau on May 7, 1940, and they were devoted to each other for 66 years. Clinton lived 76 of his 94 years on his family's Century Farm. Farming was not only his livelihood, it was his passion. He was a lifelong member of Eden Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder and a Deacon. Clinton enjoyed his family and friends, and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He loved playing cards, especially "500". He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Iowa Hawkeye Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sandra Krull; a sister, Emma Kupker; two brothers, Elmer and Lloyd Brandau; and all of his cousins.
Clinton is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Brandau, of Osage; three grandchildren: Marlan Krull and his sons, Brandon and Jordan, of Mason City; Pamela Carman (Eric) and their sons, Sam and Zach, of Minnetonka, Minn.; Kenneth Krull (Christine Schrage) and her son, Carter, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a son-in-law, Marvin Krull, of Mason City.
