Mrs. Barbara Bradley, wife of Joseph Bradley, died at her home in the town of Somers on the morning of April 30, 1889, lamented by all her acquaintances, as well as by her own family and relatives.

In early life she heard and obeyed the call of the Savior to follow Him. She came out from the world and forsook the worldly amusements of her young companions and joined herself with the peole of God, and for many years has been walking with them in loving harmony and has faithfully discharged her Christian duties. She has been called from her chosen comanion and their family of six children to that rest which the Lord had preared for her. Their loss, but her eternal gain.

When sadness the heart contemplates these motherless children, so much needing a mother's care and counsel, but it is with an assured confidence that we commend them to the tender, loving care of our God who has promised to be both father and mother to the orphan. Our friend has found the blessed rest in that home purchased and prepared for her by her. Redeemer, and for which she was preparing as the years went by.

Mrs. Bradley was comparatively a young woman, only 47 years old, and in the estimation of human planning, there was much need of her care and much work for her yet to do in her Master's vineyard, but her Divine Savior knew it was best to call her home to hear the plaudit "Well done" for her faithful service. A loving mother, a kind friend and a wise counselor has gone from us. May those she has left behind be led to look up to the home in which she has gone, there to place their trust and confidence, and after a period of faithful service be repared to follow their loved one, and with her to live and reign with Jesus in His heavenly kingdom.
