Angus registered for the World War II Draft on June 30, 1942 at the age of 19 in Center, Texas. He was listed as five foot, eleven inches tall, weighing 146 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. Later that year he enlisted in the US Navy and took his "boot camp" at the San Diego Training Center, California. The then served in Norfolk, Virginia to wars end September 2, 1945. He was honorably discharged shortly thereafter. For his service he was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
On August 27, 1949 Angus and Evelyn Rae Goodson were married in Harris County, Texas where he was attending the University of Houston. They made their home in Houston until his death in June 2005 at the age of 85. Evelyn passed at age 82 five months later and they both rest in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas. Day is done, God is nigh.
