Jasper Bond

Jasper Bond, age 82, passed from this life on January 7, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born in Lee Creek, Arkansas on September 11, 1928 to William Thompson Bond and Lydia Florence Pannell Bond. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, receiving a Purple Heart for his valor. On June 20, 1955, he married Loretta Bell Dunn in Jal, NM. They enjoyed over 55 years of marriage. Mr. Bond retired from El Paso Energy. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church on Yukon Rd.

In addition to his beloved wife, Loretta Bond, Mr. Bond is survived by two sons: Kendal Jasper Bond of Odessa and Leslie Wayne Bond and wife Abigail Ann of Jal; daughter: Sharon Kay Clary of Odessa; two brothers: Roy Bond of Farmington, AR and Johnnie Bond of Prairie Grove, AR; sister: Eula Elmore of Alabama; grandchildren: Chad, Jonathan, Candace, Michael, Summer, Misty, Amanda, Chiane, and Becky; and numerous great-grandchildren.

His parents, three brothers: Joe, Willie, and Troy; two sisters: Frances and Katy; and one granddaughter: Crystal Kay Clary, precede him in death.

Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Johnnie Storz. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
