Miss Katherine Boever, 85, longtime Le Mars resident, passed away at Sacred Heart hospital today, April 29 after a sickness of several weeks. She had made her home at the hospital for the past four years.
Katherine Boever was born Dec. 11, 1878, near Le Mars, a daughter of Phillip and Katherine (Wengler) Boever. She came to Le Mars with her parents in 1910 and had lived here since. She was a charter member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Le Mars with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Fisch officating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under the direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. on Thursday and the parish rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday. Friends may call at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.
Surviving are three sister; Mrs. Anna Helbach of Trenton, N. J., Lena C. Boever of Remsen and Mrs. Theresa (J. J.) Schmidt of Alton, and a brother Philip J. of Alexandria, Minnesota and 20 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Mary K. (1883-1926), Margaret in infancy (18 Mar 1885- 17 May 1885), and Cecilia in infancy (25 Feb 1900-28 Mar 1901) and brothers; Martin (1880-1943) and John (1888-1954).
