"Cemeteries are the roots of the Nation. They are the caretakers of tender sympathies. They are no longer just a place for memories, but a source of information for families to trace their own personal roots."
~Helen Zentz

I volunteer taking gravestone photographs in my free time. It has evolved, somewhat, adding the plot, GPS, obituary, official burial records when available. I only connect family members if the information can be verified through official records.

The following is a list of cemeteries I've completely walked through & submitted photos, obituaries, plot information, GPS for:
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/1957372/memorial-cemetery
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/96147/saint-josephs-cemetery
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2334527/cork-cemetery
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/95435/floyd-valley-cemetery
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/95858/pleasant-valley-cemetery
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/1960259/calvary-cemetery

Cemeteries which are a WIP (work in progress):
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/94232/belvidere-cemetery
https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/100886/laurel-hill-cemetery

My photos & other submissions can be found at:

Transcriptions of Iowa obituaries:

I am especially proud my Cork Family Cemetery work in 2022; cleaning, documenting and photographing with permission on private property. My photos are the 2nd column of this link: https://iagenweb.org/monona/cemetery/CorkFamilyCemetery.html

If you'd like me to make an edit on FindAGrave please site a source along with your name/relationship, so I can contribute the information to you.

If you're a relative and request a transfer of a memorial, I will gladly comply. Until then, I am just the caretaker.

Glad to be of service!
Ethel
