Belcher, 'Jean'


WOLFE CITY — Imogene "Jean" Belcher, 81, longtime Wolfe City resident who has been residing in Arlington with her daughter and family, died Dec. 13, 2009, at Arlington Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City with Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The daughter of John E. and Hoshel Lucille Cole Bishop, she was born March 8, 1928, in Wolfe City.

On April 6, 1946, she was married to James F. Belcher who died in August 1997.

Mrs. Belcher was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Weldon English; granddaughters Kirsten English Walker and Kari English Sherrich; great-grandchildren Mari and James Sherrich and Kailey Walker, all of Arlington; one sister, Dorothy Spurlock of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
