Mrs. J. E. Bishop Services Wednesday at Wolfe City
Mrs. J. E. Bishop, a resident of Wolfe City for the past two years and a
native of Celeste, died at 9:30 PM Monday, October, 30, 1961, in a Greenville
hospital following an illness of five weeks.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 1, 1961, in the
Owens Funeral Home Chapel in Wolfe City. Rev. J. H. Stanley of Wolfe City and
Rev. L. B. Morgan of Sulphur Springs officiated. Burial was in Celeste
Cemetery.
Hosha Cole Bishop was born February 21, 1907, in Celeste, the daughter of W.
R. Cole and Mary Elizabeth Barger Cole. She was married to J. E. Bishop on
June 14, 1924. One of their four children preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Parish, Mrs. Imajean
Belcher, Mrs. Dorothy Jobe, all of Wolfe City; seven grandchildren; four
sisters, Mrs. U. S. Morris of Dallas, Miss Hazel Cole of Celeste, Mrs. J. M.
McWilliams, Celeste, Mrs. Jack Nobles of Dallas, and one brother, Charlie
Cole of Celeste.
