Born in Hartley Township, PA, a son of the late Simon and Cora (Sholter) Bingamon. On April 7, 1951, at the Hironimus Union Church, Weikert, PA, he married June Elizabeth Shawver, who survives. "Bing" served in the Army from March 21, 1945, until his discharge on Oct. 15, 1946. During World War II, he was en route to the Pacific Theater when Japan surrendered.
