He was born on July 8, 1936 in Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, Louisiana to Adolph Joseph Berthelot and Azelie Aucoin Berthelot. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Wilson Anthony (Willie) Berthelot, Sr. and sister Grace Marie 'Mrs. Clay' Berthelot Sims. He is survived by 4 sisters: (Bessie Augustine Berthelot Laubdry, Lois Marie Berthelot Warner, Margaret Eva [Geet] Berthelot Breaux, and Joyce Ann Berthelot Revelle, and 3 brothers (Riley Louis Berthelot, Sr., Harold Joseph Berthelot, Sr., and Sidney Joseph Berthelot), ex-wife Ladonna Marie Monroe Berthelot Combs and his 6 children: Iris J. (Chip) Berthelot, II, (Karen) of Houston, Texas, Ann Michele Howard (Gregg) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jan Sherman (Blake) of Sugar Land, Texas, Lisa Strong (Jim) of Covington, Tennessee, Donnie Berthelot (Carol) of Clute, Texas, and David Berthelot (Nati) of Corpus Christi, Texas, grandchildren, great children, and many nieces and nephews. Iris loved his family, his Country, and friends. He served in the US Navy. He is greatly missed.
