Bert I. Bentley

Columbia, Mo.-- Bert I. Bentley, 93, Columbia, died here Friday at Lenoir Memorial Home, where he had lived since Jan. 1958.

He was born Aug. 27, 1877, in Westmoreland. He spent most of his life in the Topeka area before moving to Columbia. he was an evangelist singer and was superintendent of the construction of the First Christian Church in Topeka.

His wife, the former Edith Russell, preceded him in death in 1966. A son, William Bentley, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Allen Bentley, Shreveport, La., and three daughters, Mrs. Paul Ehly, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. J.H. Marsden, Grandview, Mo., and Mrs. J.L. Norman, address unknown.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Burial will be in that cemetery. Parker Funeral Home, Columbia, is in charge of arrangements.
