NORFOLK, Va. - Georgia Carol Walters, of Norfolk, Va., long time resident of Jacksonville went to sleep Sept. 30, 2010, and woke up in the loving arms of her beloved husband, Donald R. Walters; parents, Bessie and Eldon R. Bell; son, Donald R. Walters Jr.; and sisters Sylvia Kishel and Frankie Shinn.

Left to cherish her every day in memories, thoughts, prayers, and deeds are her loving children, Deborah Walters Davis and her husband, Randy; their daughters, Leslie Walters Davis of Richmond, Va., and Cindy Marie Walters and her partner, Marcie Ulses of Virginia Beach, Va.; her sisters, Lydia Fleetwood Cannon of Wilmington, Dolores Rose Graver and her husband, James of Washington and Edna Elizabeth "Lib" Tedder of South Carolina; her brothers, Eldon Allen "Bill" Bell of Franklin, Va., and Romain Gerald Bell "Jerry" and Debby of Raleigh; and granddaughter, Regina Chelise Walters.

Carol was a loving, sweet, generous mother, grandmother and aunt and was a proud and devoted USMC wife and widow. She was a humble, non-judgmental soul whose consistent, stable and patient nature allowed all family members to share their hearts with her. She most loved to read, talk about her children, and grandchild, Leslie, and spend time with her daughter, Cindy, just watching the weather channel. She always had a smile for everyone. She will be so missed by all.

Carol was retired from civil service where she was a comptroller for the commissary, having grown up around Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base, and marrying her only love, Don, a marine, after meeting at the USO. They loved and adored each other for 52 years of marriage until his passing. She missed him deeply.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel with the Rev. Julia Ashby officiating. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
