Rachel Clara Baum daughter of Henry & Harriet Baum was born March 21, 1835 in Pike Creek near Monticello, Ind. She fell asleep In Jesus March 19, 1920 age 84 years 11 months and 29 days. She was united in marriage to Robert Cornell Sept. 24, 1857. To this union 5 children were born, 3 sons and 2 daughters. Her husband and 2 sons preceded her to the better world. She was converted when young, joined the Dunkard church and later united with the Wheatland Ave. Church. During her illness she was submissive the will of her heavanly father and her Pastor always found her trusting in the Lord. When the call came she was ready to go. She has gone to meet the loved ones who have gone before and is there to art wait the coming of those who remain. She cannot come back to us but we can if we are faithful go & meet her. She leaves to mourn their loss, one son Martin A Cornell, two daughters; Mrs. Horace Bailey, Merrimac, Okla, Mrs. Norman J Keever, Oklahoma City, Okla; one brother Dr. Z.T. Baum, Paris, Ill; three sisters, Mrs, Mary McBeth, Paris, Ill and Mrs Rebecca Stigers, Ascolosca, Iowa, Mrs. Martha McCarty, Paris, Ill; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a host of loved ones and friends. Our loss if her eternal gain.
