Mrs. Barott was well known and respected by all who knew her, and a large number of sympathizing friends were present at the funeral services. The floral tokens were both beautiful and numerous.
Mrs. Minerva Elizabeth Barott was the daughter of Freeman and Louise Farr. She was born in the state of New York on November 29th, 1843. When she was but a child the Farr family came west, making their journey via the Lakes by boat to Milwaukee. Settling in Wisconsin they made their home in Dodge County. In the month of September 1868, she was married at Mayville to Eugene Barott, making their home in Mayville, and with exception of a few years Mrs. Barott lived in this city continuously until the day of her death. Mr. Barott preceded his wife in April 1896. During the happy married life of Mr. and Mrs. Barott there were born to them two daughters, Etta and Elsie who have lived at home. Mrs. Barott had been ailing for a number of years and had been quite an invalid for almost twelve months. Taking to her bed two weeks ago she gradually grew weaker until she passed peacefully away on Saturday morning at 4:45 a. m., having reached the ripe old age of 74 years, 1 month, 20 days. Besides her two daughters she leaves three sisters, Mrs. Mary Meinen of Mellen, Wis., Mrs. Maria Kollar and Mrs. Delia Tuttle of Fond du Lac, and one brother Myron Farr of Ironton, Wisconsin.
