Again one of Mayville's old settlers has died. Eugene Barott, who lived in the 1st ward and was liked by everyone, died at 5 o'clock today, Friday morning, after a stroke which brought an abrupt end to his life. He was born in the state of New York on March 5, 1840 and reached the age of 59 years and 29 days. In 1868 he was married in Mayville to Minerva Farr who survives him. Mr. Barott was a veteran of the Civil War and served with the 29th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment from 1861 to the end of the war. He was a member of the Raymond Post No. 43. In addition to the sorrowing wife, he leaves behind two daughters: Misses Etta and Elsie Barott. We have no information this morning on the plans for his burial. Our sympathy to his family.
