Orlin was baptized on December 17, 1922 at the Salem Lutheran Church north of Superior, Nebraska and confirmed on September 27, 1936 at Salem Lutheran. He was united in marriage to Blanche Wood on November 8, 1953 at Salem Lutheran. This union was blessed with three children. Orlin had a love for farming and farmed his entire life in the Superior area.
He was a member of the Elks and the Eagles both of Superior and served on the council and many offices at Salem Lutheran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Blanche, brothers, Eilert, Alvin, Carl Jr., Frederick and Leland and a sister, Ruby Wilton.
Survivors include his daughters Linda Bargen & husband Jerry Holtorf of Lincoln, Judy Baker & husband Kelly; and son Vaughn Bargen and special friend Carla Ost all of Superior, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Chelsea Baker and friend R. J. Hamilton and Casey Voichoskie and husband Corey and one great-granddaughter, Cambree Jo Voichoskie along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 from the Salem Lutheran Church in Rural Superior with Pastor Don Olson officiating.
Pallbearers were Lynn Bargen, Kevin Bargen, Lonnie Bargen, Kent Bargen, Steve Bargen, Chad Wood and R.J. Hamilton.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska
Memorials may go in care of the Salem Lutheran Church.
