Dr.Colin McIver Barge was Born in North Carolina he was the Son of Abraham Barge and Hannah Harris Barge and his Grand Parents were Lewis Barge & Christana. Lewis Barge was born in German Town Penn. in 1741 he moved to Fayetiville North Carolina in about 1760, he was the second Signer of The Liberty Point Resolve in 1775 which was North Carolina Declaration of Independance from Great Britian theres a large Monument on the Square in Honor of these Brave Men.

Colin McIver was A Solider in The Confederatecy in 1st, State Troops, Wheat's Company Texas In Fantry, we have copy's of his services records & where his wife Amanda Sayers Barge drew his pension after Grandads death.
He was also a Country Doctor and Post Master in Yuno in 1892 till about 1900 when he retired his son John William took over at that time and served till May 1905 when the post office was moved to the new City of Zavalla.
Dr Colin McIver had three wives:
Hannah Cox was his first wife there children were :

1-Sarah Jane Barge born June-26-1847 she married James R. Cryer.

2-L.J. Barge born 1848

After the death of Hannah Cox Barge Colin McIver remarried
Rosannah Young Barge they had serveral children :

1-Minerva Ann Barge born April-16-1855 in Natches Miss. died July-1-1932 in Leesville Louisiana she married John White on Jan.-16-1870 in Zavalla,Texas.

2-John William Barge who married Mary Ann Cryer.

3-James Madison Barge born-August-21-1860

4- Nancy Catherine Barge born-Dec.-27-1864

5- Maria Louisa Barge born-Dec.-6-1867

After Rosannah died Colin married the 3rd. time to Amanda Sayers they were married about 10 years when Grandad died in Dec.-1909.
