PVT. Cicero M Barge,

Enlisted: September 10 1861, Co. A, 28th Georgia Infantry, with the 28th Regiment Company A out of Georgia. He was a Volunteer in the infantry.

Battle of Seven Pines in Virginia, on May 31,1862

Description: Born: Georgia, Where: Washington Co., Age: 24 years, Eyes blue, Hair light, Complexion fair, 5 feet 11 inches high,

Occupation: Mechanic. Died in hospital from wounds received at Seven Pines June 8, 1862. Mother Hannah Barge filed for claims for his services. She received $110.93.

He is buried in Oak Wood Cemetery.

Cicero was the grandson of an American Revolutionist Lewis Barge.

We are very Proud of Our Uncle Cicero Barge who gave his life for This Great Nation, he had 2 Brothers who servered in the Civil War also my G.G.Grandad Dr. Colin McIver Barge and James Madison Barge, there Sister Sarah Barge married Joesph Salter who also servered in The Civil War.
Abraham and Hannah Harris Barge gave much to this Great Nation there 3 Sons servered and One never came back Home
but died at the battle of Seven Pines.
