Sgt. Alvin L. Ballard, Sr., was a sergeant with the Baton Rouge Police Department.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jewell Marchand; his mother, Mrs. Marie Ballard, both of Baton Rouge; a daughter; a son; two brothers Herbert W. Ballard and K. Bernell Ballard, both of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel W. Ballard.
