Betty Jean Oaks Bailey, age 80, of Knoxville TN, Formerly of Union County, passed away July 22, 2014.

She was born July 21st 1934, she was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. Member of Beta Sigma Phi 48 years,

Antique Dealer at Green Acres Flee Market for many years where she met many friends.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. she was preceded in death by mother Trula Stella Eastridge Oaks, Father, Eddie Oaks, Son, Chucky D. Vandergriff, Sisters, Henrietta Oaks, Archer Della Mae Oaks, Nancy Sue Oaks, Harrell & Brother Billy Oaks, Mother and Father-in-law Edgebert and Dona Bailey.

Survived by Husband of 54 years and best friend Bill Bailey, loving daughter and best friend Linda Nelson, special grandsons Kenneth R. Nelson Jr, Gregory Nelson and wife Missy, Jason Nelson, their dad Kenneth R. Nelson Sr. , Great-Grandsons Cody Nelson and Matthew Garza, Special nieces and nephews Handy and Marlene Kaiser, Steve and Lupe Harper, Elvis Doane, Nancy Oaks, Joe and Sheila Kaiser, Carson Tharp, Sue Tharp, special cousins Rev. Clarence and Eva Bull, aunt Etta Oaks, friends Faye Hickle, Myrtle Nicely, Cousins Kenny and Norma Taylor. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Shutt and his staff for the help and prayers they have given.

Family and friends meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery Friday at 10:45 for an 11am Graveside Service Family will have a call at convenience on Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
