Bill Oaks went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 68, on June 9, 2013. He was born on October 13, 1944 to the late Eddie and Trula Oaks, in Maynardville, Tennessee. In 1981, he moved to Midland, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Maria Rivas. They were married on April 14, 1982. Bill owned and operated Oaks Distributing Company for 25 years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, telling jokes, singing gospel songs, and playing his guitars. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church where he served in the bus ministry, choir, and the M/M (Mature Members) ministry.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Henrietta Ogle and Nancy Sue Harrell. Survivors include his loving wife, Maria; and children, Kim and husband Tim Smoke from Phoenix, AZ; Traci and husband Don Hiltz from Cadillac, MI; Inez Reyes from Midland, Texas, and Fay Heller from Odessa, TX; his adopted son, Brian Freidenbloom and his wife Charlesane, from Oklahoma City, OK; his sister Christine Johnson from Knoxville, TN. His grandchildren, Kristan Hall from Houston; Michael and John Doehring from Detroit, MI; Donnie and Mitchell Hiltz from Cadillac, MI; Kyle Freidenbloom from Hobbs, NM; and Brett Freidenbloom from Odessa, TX.; Jordan and Jace Freidenbloom from Oklahoma City, OK; and a special dog in his life, Vanea. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Second Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Second Baptist Church officiating by Pastor Aaron Wills and Pastor Tom Revilla.
Pallbearers will be James Cooper, Leon Blaschke, Jerry Mason, Darrell Hill, Leo Arrieta, Jerry Pearce, Kyle Freidenbloom and Brett Freidenbloom.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HUB Outreach Ministry c/o Jerry Mason, 4706 Brookdale Dr. Midland, TX. 79703.
