Fred "Big Fred" Austin, 56, of 905 Lovers Lane Road, Union, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Mr. Austin was born in Union, Oct. 25, 1950, a son of the late Kate Austin Todd. He was a member of the Greater Union Church. "Big Fred" was a devoted brother and uncle.
Survivors are: two sisters, Josephone Todd of Union and Lula Fowler of the home; a brother, W.S. Austin and a sister in law, Sherry Austin, both of Union; two nieces, Vicky Beheler and Amy Jarrett; seven nephews, Monte Todd, Ricky Todd, Brent Austin, Jerry Fowler, Steven Austin, Thomas Austin and Shannon Austin; and a number of great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert Gary Austin, Billy Ray Austin and George Austin; two nieces, Cheryl Todd Rhinehart and Patricia Ann Todd.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ricky Cook. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Fowler, Steven Austin, Thomas Austin, Shannon Austin, Lee Austin, Robert Austin Jr., Donald Beard and Bryan Jarrett.
The following are asked to sit in a group: C.W. Garner, Russell Roark, Linda Mitchell, employees of Union Services and the Wal Mart Buddies.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Saturday night at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
